The Serpentine Gallery’s pop-up summer pavilion hosted guests for a summer drinks reception earlier this month.
Guests tucked into indulgent canapés as they explored the temporary summer venue, which is open every summer with a new design. This year’s Pavilion has been designed by Spanish architects José Selgas and Lucía Cano, and sees the pair experiment with wild bright colours, which change as guests wander through.
On the canapé menu were a decadent selection of summer dishes, including ‘Surf and Turf’ – Baked Fillet of Cod with Caramelised Chorizo Served with Minted Pea Puree, Lamb Tagine slow-cooked in Honey, Almonds and Citrus served in a Roasted Sweet Potato Cup with Sultanas, vegetarian Sushi Rolls, Mini Salmon Nicoise Salads in Jersey Royal Potato Cups with Quail’s Egg and Anchovy Dressing and Chicken Breast rolled in San Daniele Ham with Truffled Mushrooms, Crispy Sage and Red Wine Gel.
Other choices included Carpaccio of Scottish Beef on Crostini with Parmesan, Rocket Salad and a Drizzle of Truffle Oil, Poached Pears in Aromatic Red Wine Served with Aromatic Creamy Goats Cheese on Toasted Panettone Bread and Deconstructed Caprese Salad with Baby Bocconcini, Served with Tomato Flakes, Olive Oil Crumble and Micro Basil.
Dessert canapés were served following the savoury bites, these included Pistachio & Raspberry Financiers and Miniature Bannoffee Pies with Caramelised Banana, Caramel Sauce and Whipped Cream, Dusted with Cocoa Powder.
Last year our team catered for all guests at the Serpentine Pavilion Cafe – take a look at what we served here.
