Chefs’ Club at On Blackheath

The London Kitchen team returned to On Blackheath festival for the second year running last weekend, for a world-class celebration of food and music.

There were no greasy burgers and soggy chips at this festival! Instead partygoers could head to the Chef’s Club Banquet to enjoy a selection of two course menus designed by London’s best regarded chefs, all prepared with the help of the London Kitchen!

Hosted by John Quilter, aka the Food Busker, the mini restaurant was set in a beautiful bohemian grand pavilion in the middle of the Food Village. Diners were seated at perfectly dressed tables to enjoy a two-course feast and a Chandon cocktail, cooked and served by some of London’s hottest celebrity chefs. Diners could then get up close and personal with the star chefs to find out all of their tips and tricks. Featured chefs included Honestly Healthy’s Natasha Corrett, followed by the over-the-top-delicious DJ BBQ, and the legendary Gennaro Contaldo, Michelin starred Pascal Aussignac, Martin Morales from Ceviche, the gorgeous Hemsley & Hemsley and Duck and Waffle’s Daniel Doherty.

Sunday kicked off with local Blackheath legend Andy McLeish, Jamie Oliver’s FoodTube guru DJ BBQ, some treats from the continent from Alexis Gabriel Ainouz (French Guy Cooking), British Vogue’s Calgary Avansino, Tom & Henry Herbert, John Quilter, and Kelis.

Some of our team’s favourite dishes included: Avocado Lime Cheesecake with Raspberries and Pineapple Carpaccio by Hemsley and Hemsley, Marmite Glazed Ox Cheek, Charred Cauliflower, Oyster Dressing & Bitter Leaves from Daniel Doherty, Silverside Venison marinaded in Hibiscus, Bourbon and Honey; grilled on Sweetwood and single species Charcoal by DJ BBQ and the Baker Brothers’ Sticky Dippy Sticks – a delicious variation of churros.

OnBlackheath festival will return in 2016. Be there!
