Our café at the Serpentine Pavilion is now officially open for business!
Located within the grounds of the Serpentine Gallery, the Pavilion and Café are both temporary summer structures, free for the public to visit. Every year the unique Pavilion is designed by a different architect, and this year it’s the turn of renowned Chilean architect Smiljan Radić, who has created a semi-translucent, cylindrical structure which is designed to resemble a shell. The plans were inspired by Radić’s early work, particularly The Castle of the Selfish Giant and the Restaurant Mestizo. The Pavilion is visited every year by 250,000 people during the four months it’s open for.
We’ll be offering specially created summer café menus, perfect for relaxing days in the sunshine! Start early with breakfast beside the Pavilion, and choose from freshly baked Pain Au Chocolate, Almond Croissant, Portuguese Custard Tarts, Chocolate Brownies and Fresh Fruits.
Or, if a summer lunch is what you’re after we recommend one of our refreshing summer salads, or premium London Kitchen sandwiches with a host of mouth-watering fillings – Cheddar with Mango Chutney and Cumin is a real favourite!
For those with a sweet tooth we’re also serving indulgent Minghella’s Ice Cream pots and freshly baked cakes to enjoy in the sunshine. Of course we could never forget man’s best friend either – we’re even serving treats for pampered pooches from Lily’s Kitchen!
Our menu is accompanied by gourmet Tea and Coffee, Koako Collection Single Estate Hot Chocolate, soft drinks, Asahi beer and a selection of red and white wines.
The Pavilion and Café are both now open, and will remain open for the duration of the summer, closing on 18th October. Admission to the Pavilion is free. We look forward to seeing you!
The Pavilion is also available for private hire and is ideal for receptions. For more information please contact Damian at firstname.lastname@example.org
