The London Kitchen’s Guide to Christmas in London

It’s December at last, and we’re embracing all things festive as we explore the best of what the capital has to offer! Our team has been out and about trying London’s most exciting immersive events, winter pop-ups and unmissable Christmas experiences. Here’s the run down of our favourites – you don’t want to miss these!

Damian
Top 10 Pubs with Fireplaces

Damian likes nothing better than relaxing next to a roaring log fire of a winter’s evening, so his recommendation is a visit to any one of these top London pubs with fireplaces. They all score a 10 for winter indulgence.

Head Chef Fernando
Night Tales, Old Street

Old Street plays host to Night Tales this winter, an incredible showcase of London’s best street food. The team has transformed a Shoreditch car park with wild gardens, private chalets, bars, log fires and plenty of inventive cocktails.

Steph, Buntingford Kitchen
The Ice Rink, Somerset House

Steph manages our very first restaurant, the Buntingford Kitchen. She ventured into London to take to the ice at Somerset House’s iconic Christmas ice rink, and loved it! The ice rink hosts club nights throughout the winter, with some of the world’s best DJs, and after your skate you can enjoy a specially created cocktail in the skate lounge.

Jay
Balham Lodge Pop-Up

Jimmy Garcia is pop-up royalty, he’s the man behind some of the capital’s most exciting pop-ups, and this winter he’s surpassed himself with his cosiest project yet, the Lodge, Balham. This wintry wonder is Jay’s favourite – it’s the place to go for fondues, hot cocktails and signature dishes.

Jamie
The Hidden House, Westfield

Brand new immersive experience the Hidden House caught Jamie’s eye on a recent Christmas shopping trip! Inspired by the Grimm tales, the event encourages visitors to journey through a maze and investigate the sudden disappearance of Little Red Riding Hood.

Ami
Winterville, Victoria Park

East London plays host to a magical pop-up town this winter – Winterville! The alternative winter wonderland includes an outdoor ice rink, horse-drawn carriages, a fairground, on-site pub, Christmas market, club nights and much more. It’ll having you feeling festive in no time, Ami tells us!

Iwona
Christmas Wednesdays at Columbia Road

December sees Columbia Road open on Wednesday evenings for incredible Christmas markets, with a special Saturday opening on 21st December. Iwona tells us its one of the best places to get those last minute presents, you’re sure to find something unique on these stalls.

Team Pick
Pimlico Plumbers Christmas Lights

Forget Oxford Street, no Christmas lights display comes close to that of our neighbours – the Pimlico Plumbers! Every year the plumbers bring Christmas cheer to the area with a massive lights display and this year’s no exception. Check them out if you’re commuting into Waterloo or visiting our Lambeth HQ, they should bring you plenty of Christmas cheer!
