The London Kitchen team is one of the most recognised and talented in the industry. This hard-working and dedicated young bunch share decades of experience between them, and benefit from the unbeatable leadership of our Managing Director, Damian Clarkson.
Damian has worked for some of the biggest names in event catering, including The Admirable Crichton, Rhubarb Food Design and Mosimann’s. Before setting up The London Kitchen, Damian was managing director of Red Snapper Events, with clients including the Duchy of Cornwall, Tom Ford, Oswald Boateng, Mercedes Benz, Aston Martin, Wella, and Monsoon. He has catered events alongside leading chefs Atul Kochnar and James Martin, and has catered for private clients in the UK and the South of France.
Damian’s food has impressed critics such as Michael Winner, and he has also appeared on The Apprentice and BBC Radio 2’s Chris Evans Drive Time. In 2008 Damian received the personal accolade of ISES Caterer of the Year. He also featured in Tatler’s ‘Must Have List’ and Event Magazine’s ‘Top Ten in 2007’.
Recent collaborations have included Franck Pontais, an award winning chef and author of Terrines & Verrines, and Roy Ackerman an industry legend. Damian also enjoys being a Mentor at Oxford Brookes University for Hospitality Undergraduates.
Chris joined The London Kitchen team as Operations Manager in September 2009, straight from Manchester Metropolitan University to pursue his career in the hospitality industry. After three years with the company Chris has seen the team through some extraordinary events, his biggest challenge to date was a Rugby match catering for 3,000 people in 45 minutes and he’s looking forward to tackling it again this year! In his free time Chris can be found cycling the streets of London, scouring the internet for the latest house music and checking out London’s great night life.
Jay is our Senior Planner and has worked with Damian since 2008. With a degree in Events and Hospitality Management he is taking the London Events industry by storm. As much as Jay enjoys working on our high-brow events, he’s also been seen serving burgers and chips at a charity fun run or delivering sandwiches to the team at 5.00am. When Jay’s not savouring the flavours of one of London’s trendiest epicurean establishments, you will find him in his home kitchen preparing a culinary masterpiece of his own (over a glass of Champagne).
Amber recently joined the planning team all the way from the other side of the world after spending 4 years with leading New Zealand Caterer, Ruth Pretty. Working alongside Jay, Rachel and Damian in the planning and sales team, she has certainly made her mark since reaching our shores, assuming the role of office matriarch with ease. When Amber is not in the office, and the boys aren’t jibing at her accent (a mixture of South African and Kiwi), she can be found exploring the plethora of drinking holes that London has to offer and has taken quite a shine to the capital’s Irish bars.
Rachel is the newest member to the London Kitchen Planning Team. Having trained at the London Metropolitan by COMO Hotel, and with a degree in Politics, Rachel brings with her a new level of finesse and an eye for detail. A country girl at heart, Rachel is not afraid of getting her boots dirty. Yet although she grew up on an organic farm, Rachel enjoys the odd blowout at some of London’s chicest boutiques. Having refurbished her flat quicker than a TV makeover, Rachel also holds the title of TLK bowling champ.
Lamond recently joined the London Kitchen Operations Team. With several years of back of house experience, and a degree in Criminology, Lamond is fully armed to head up our back of house department. Lamond takes care of the day-to-day smooth running of our warehouse and compliances. A keen sportsman, Lamond is passionate about playing soccer. When he’s not out on the field, you may find him secretly searching for the most romantic holiday destinations.
