It’s a scorching 36.7 degrees in London today, so of course we’ve had to stop by the ice cream van for a little something to cool off. These are our team’s favourite ice creams, the more retro the better, we think!
Jamie – Funny Feet
Funny Feet were once the treat of choice for kids across the nation. But then the strawberry flavoured ice cream classic disappeared from our shelves after manufacturer Walls stopped production. Now, thanks to a Facebook campaign, it’s back in our freezers once more, and Jamie couldn’t be happier!
Emma – Magnum White
For some reason the White Chocolate Magnum feels especially indulgent, that’s why it’s Emma’s favourite choice for relaxing in the sunshine.
Ed – Calippo
Nothing hits the spot better than a Calippo, and it must be the classic orange flavour. Thirst-quenching, syrupy sweetness and a dose of retro nostalgia in one pop-up tube – the only problem is the soggy paper top of the packet…
Jay – Fab
The Fab is a childhood classic; it’s got hundreds and thousands AND chocolate so it’s basically unbeatable, Jay tells us.
Damian – Cornetto
The cornetto has been a staple ice cream for over 50 years now, and it’s Damian’s favourite. He loves the crunchy topping, smooth ice cream, crispy wafer and who could forget that little chocolate tip!
Jen – Mr Whippy 99
The daddy of all ice creams – this whipped, pure white classic (with a flake, of course) reigned supreme before fancier rivals from America and Italy came overseas. But Jen will always stay true to a 99 in the park.
The perfect blend of creamy ice cream and ice lolly – this underrated treat does not get enough love.
