What Type of Canapé Eater are You?
As the party season takes hold in earnest, Damian Clarkson, owner of premium
events caterer, The London Kitchen, identifies the top five types of canapé eaters
– and analyses what each says about your networking skills [… ] And Damian
tells us how to be a Canapé Connoisseur;
“Canapés should be eaten in one mouthful to get all the flavours working
together on your palate.
“Try sipping your drink in between so that you wash out any strong flavours
before you move onto the next and when in doubt ask a waiter what the canapé
is before you bite into something you would rather not.”
We’re a nation of Chocoholics and there are so many ways to include this
sweet treat in your wedding. My favourites include personalised Chocolate
invitations, where the wrapper has your initials and details of the big day on
it, Chocolate Wine – a Dutch delicacy – which is proving popular as an afterdinner
tipple, and a Chocolate ‘Wall’ where guests can carve messages as a
great alternative to a traditional guest book.
MANAPES. Down with the mini veggie quiche – bigger, ballsier
canapés are back. Pass the steak on a stick.
From smoked salmon tartare on a buckwheat blini pancake with dill crème fraiche canapé to blackcurrant mousse topped with a sharp lemon posset and lavender and lemon shortbread, The London Kitchen shows an understanding of what makes truly classic cooking, with an added twist to make it exciting.
