Venue of the Month: The Serpentine Gallery

The London Kitchen’s prestigious venue of the month award for April goes to one of London’s most popular art galleries, the stunning Serpentine Gallery. This spectacular Kensington gallery is the perfect setting for events destined to impress. Focusing on modern and contemporary art The Serpentine Gallery attracts up to 800,000 visits a year – but hire it for your event and this unique space could be exclusively yours.

Established in 1970 The Serpentine Gallery takes its name from nearby lake the Serpentine. The gallery is housed in a classical tea pavilion, which has since become one of the capital’s finest cultural destinations. Many a notable artist has exhibited here, from Damien Hirst and Henry Moore to Andy Warhol and Bridget Riley.

In the grounds of the Gallery is a permanent work by artist and poet Ian Hamilton Finlay, dedicated to the Serpentine’s former Patron Diana, Princess of Wales. The work comprises eight benches, a tree-plaque, and a carved stone circle at the Gallery’s entrance.

We love catering for events at the Serpentine Gallery and enjoying the sight of our sumptuous seasonal food in this lovely setting. We always take the chance to check out the new artwork too…
