A summer dinner at Farnborough’s historic wind tunnels saw guests indulging in a stunning feast of London Kitchen classics, in one of the UK’s most unusual settings.
This unique venue was once used for flight-testing, and is located beside TAG Farnborough Airport. Having recently opened for private and corporate events, the venue has been transformed into a unique, contemporary event space which is absolutely perfect for entertaining.
On this occasion 42 guests were greeted with a Champagne reception, which was served in the lounge area, before we invited guests to move into the main space. Here our VIPs discovered that the return duct of tunnel R52 had been transformed into a show-stopping dinner venue.
The dinner began with a starter of Bermondsey Gin Cured Salmon with Confit Lemon Puree, Pickled Cucumber and Chervil Salad, or Chilled English Garden Summer Vegetable Soup. A main course of Roast Lamb Rump with Celeriac and Potato Galette, Grilled Asparagus and Minted Pea and Broad Bean Sauce was then served, as guests soaked up the atmosphere of this unforgettable setting.
Dessert was a Lemon Chiffon Cake served with Italian Meringue, Lemon Curd and Yoghurt Mousse, followed by our irresistible handmade Dark Chocolate Truffles, served with Tea & Coffee.
The tunnels, named Q121 and R52, are suited to private and corporate events for up to 350 guests. Talk to us today to find out more venue hire and catering at Artliner’s Wind Tunnel Project.
