An Italian Masterpiece

An Italian Masterpiece

The London Kitchen created a majestic feast for this Italian wedding, where Italian theming extended from the space into all seven courses of this decadent menu. The venue of choice was The London Film Museum, which was adorned in a pistachio colour scheme from the bridesmaids’ dresses to napkins and favours.

Guests began with mouth-watering canapés, including antipasto skewers and homemade mini calzone. And then the feast began in earnest, with a Carpaccio of Beef starter. A pasta course followed, Pumpkin and Amaretti ravioli, before guests tucked into a Rump of Spring Lamb with Dauphinoise Potatoes, Wilted Chilli & Garlic Spinach. The indulgent dinner was rounded off with a Dense Chocolate and Orange Terrine.

Ireland Meets Scotland

Ireland Meets Scotland

The menu for this civil partnership centred on sensational local produce, with influences from Ireland and Scotland – each of the respective partners’ homes. An exquisite menu was presented on exclusive tableware, alongside the finest quality linen for this spectacular wedding breakfast.

Guests were greeted with bespoke cocktails, where they chose from a London themed cocktail list, specially created by The London Kitchen in honour of the special day. A firm favourite was the summery Mill Bank (Tanqueray Gin, Pimm’s, Apple Juice, Lime Juice, Ginger Ale). Starters included a Mull of Kintyre Cheddar and Onion Tart, and an Aged Fillet of Glen Fyne Beef proved a show-stopping main course. The decadent menu finished with a classic dessert, childhood favourite Marmalade Pudding. And we’re delighted to announce that the end result, served with Drambuie Custard, was better than the couple remembered!

Brazilian Flair at 45 Millbank

The London Kitchen were tasked with creating a ‘Brazil Meets England’ themed wedding at stunning Edwardian venue 45 Millbank this year. Brazilian flair and British indulgence were evident throughout the venue, from interior decor to entertainment – and of course the menu.

Guests enjoyed Champagne, Caiprinias and Mojitos on arrival, before sampling a variety of The London Kitchen’s finest canapés. British themed canapés circled the room as the party began, later followed by a sumptuous sushi station and decadent Brazilian dessert canapés.

Guests were also treated to brunch the following morning, which featured traditional kedgeree, Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine and Buttermilk Pancakes, as well as a Sunday roast that afternoon – roast rib of beef of course!

A Vegan Adventure

A Vegan Adventure

Bill and Elly put the creativity of The London Kitchen to the test with their unusual request – a vegan wedding breakfast. A starter of Fried Italian Tofu Salad with Basil, Ginger and Spring Onion Served with a Sweet and Tangy Lemon Dressing was followed by Slow Cooked Cocobeans and Wine Tomato Stew, with Stuffed Green Cabbage and Saffron Rice. The wedding party then sampled a variety of mini canapé desserts, including Blackcurrant Mousse, Mini Amaretto Custard Tarts and Mini Banoffee Pies.

The London Kitchen also helped Bill and Elly to source their perfect venue – the couple opted for Chelsea’s distinctive London Sketch Club as the backdrop to this truly unique reception.

Afternoon Tea and Food Stalls

Afternoon Tea and Food Stalls

We received a rather unusual brief for Angie and Johns’ November nupitals – food stalls and afternoon tea. A rural location in the heart of Chichester was the setting, and with bonfires creating an electric atmosphere as guests arrived we knew this was going to be one unforgettable reception.

Afternoon tea was served earlier in the day, whilst food stalls enabled guests to try the full range of London Kitchen treats in the evening. A Morroccan stall served lamb tagine and Ras el Hanout pork, an Oriental stall served Sichuan chicken and Pad Thai, and a Griddle Stall provided Skewered Sirloin of Beef and Marinated Prawns. For dessert Angie and John chose our scrumptious sweet canapés – Shot Glasses of Eton Mess proved a winner!

transforming wedding

Transforming Wedding Venue

Transforming Wedding Venue

Sondrine and Lial wanted to experience one venue in three entirely different ways. The Church their wedding ceremony was held in was later transformed, becoming first a dining space and later a reception venue.

Following the ceremony guests ventured into the grounds to enjoy Pimm’s and cake, whilst the London Kitchen team got to work creating the ultimate dinner setting with long banqueting tables and natural flowers. Here we served a trio of salmon, rump of beef and decadent dark chocolate tarts. Then it was time to recreate the space once more, as the team got to work transforming the church into a unique party palace for the couple’s evening reception.

bridal bowl food

Bridal Bowl Food

Bridal Bowl Food

We were asked to create a wedding menu that was a little out of the ordinary for the nuptials of James and Dorothea, so we suggested canapés and bowl food. This more relaxed option enables guests to mingle freely and get to know one another, without the formality of a seated dinner.

On the menu were a selection of canapés followed by a wide range of different bowl food dishes, Teriyaki Salmon with Marinated Bok Choi and Noodles and Crispy Barbary Duck with Shredded Chinese Cabbage, Peppers and Mange Tout, Deep Fried Wonton and Spiced Plum Dressing among them.

christening

A Creative Christening

A Creative Christening

And what comes after the wedding? A christening of course! The London Kitchen were delighted to cater for the christening of Natasha and Nicolas’s new arrival. One hundred and ten guests were treated to Champagne and canapés on arrival, as well as ‘mocktails’ – Ginger Beer with Lime and Mint and Traditional Lemonade with Strawberry Purée.

A buffet was then served, but this was no ordinary buffet! On the menu was Butterfly Loin of Lamb with Garlic and Rosemary, Carved to Order, Sliced Rump of Beef with Slow Roasted Vine Tomatoes, Grilled Scottish Langoustines with Parsley and Lemon Butter, Monkfish and Tiger Prawn Brochette with Coconut Marinade, Salmon Fillet and a Caramelised Red Onion Tart Tatin – but the real star of the show was the incredible Suckling Pig, a top secret family recipe known only to the proud grandmother…and the TLK chefs!

Afternoon Tea with a Twist

Afternoon Tea with a Twist

We created a stunning afternoon tea with a twist at a recent Ruislip wedding. A bespoke menu was designed according to the couple’s exact wishes, with afternoon tea taking centre stage at the wedding breakfast.

Presented on classic tiered stands at the centre of each table, the afternoon tea featured savoury options including Smoked Salmon on Buckwheat Blinis with Crème Fraîche and Dill, a Selection of Finger Sandwiches, Authentic Indian Vegetable Samosas, Onion Bhajis, Coconut Coated Chicken with Mango and Curry Dip and more. Sweet accompaniments included Fresh Strawberry Tartlets, Mini Chocolate, Hazelnut and Cherry Brownies and Mango Jelly with Coconut Panna Cotta.
