An Award Ceremony Dinner for 1,300

Old Billingsgate hosts some of the capital’s most prestigious awards ceremonies, and this particular financial awards is no exception. An event that the TLK team have catered for over the last 7 years. This incredible event is attended by 1,300 guests, who all enjoy a three course meal within the surrounds of one of the City’s favourite event spaces.

Catering for such a large number of guests is no mean feat. The team estimate that we got through around 9,000 pieces of cutlery, 3,900 plates and more napkins than we would care to remember!

Catering for Corrie

When The London Kitchen were asked to cater for Corrie we knew no ordinary event catering would do. In Weatherfield all catering is Corrie themed. Thankfully we were on hand with a range of tempting treats fitting the bill.

Our ‘Roy’s Rolls’ stand had guests spoilt for choice, with all the old favourites on the menu. Sausage, bacon and corned beef baps were served with the obligatory ketchup and brown sauce, atop a tablecloth of gingham… naturally.

Sweet toothed Mancunians then had a difficult decision to contend with. Our retro offerings included caramel wafers, toasted teacakes, iced buns and egg custards.

The fashionistas of Wella gathered at the Roundhouse for a very special take on event catering at the Wella Trendvision Awards.

The exclusive event saw renowned hairdressers present a showcase of their most innovative and avant-garde creations on the catwalk whilst guests enjoyed entertainment by celebrity performers, circus acts and DJs, and of course tucked into many a divine dish prepared by the London Kitchen. Our show stopping colour-changing dessert was based on a childhood favourite – the Screwball Sundae, and included bubblegum ice cream, strawberry sauce, space dust and of course… a flake!

The Sky’s the Limit at the Farnborough Air Show

The week-long Farnborough Air Show is an international extravaganza, so when The London Kitchen took over catering for some very privileged guests the menu was designed to reflect the diversity of the occasion.

Guests enjoyed flavours from five corners of the globe, with each of the event’s five days taking on a different nationality’s theme. As always attention to detail was paramount – even when it meant a team member journeying the length of a motorway to source some very special Russian berries for one of our exotic cocktails.

Fine Dining… On The Stage

A fundraising dinner for the Lyric Theatre put the versatility of The London Kitchen team to the test. A last minute increase in numbers proved so great that guests were seated on the stage of this breathtaking Hammersmith theatre – and the kitchens were in the wings!

The Lyric theatre is an iconic London stage, so this fundraising dinner was the perfect way to raise money for a good cause – by serving gourmet food in a truly stunning setting.

Ireland and Scotland Unite

The London Kitchen united the cuisines of Ireland and Scotland for the catering at this civil partnership, creating a menu that focussed on the most mouth-watering traditional dishes of each country.

Sensational produce was the star of this exquisite menu, which was presented on exclusive tableware and alongside the finest quality linen. Starters included a Mull of Kintyre Cheddar and Onion Tart, and an Aged Fillet of Glen Fyne Beef proved a show-stopping main course. The decadent menu finished with a classic dessert, childhood favourite Marmalade Pudding.

The London Kitchen also created a menu of bespoke cocktails with a London theme in honour of the special day. A firm favourite was the summery Mill Bank (Tanqueray Gin, Pimm’s, Apple Juice, Lime Juice and Ginger Ale).

We like to think of ourselves as fashionable foodies here at The London Kitchen, so we were hugely excited to be chosen as caterers for the launch of H&M’s new Brick Lane Bikes collection in March 2013.

Catering took on a Brick Lane theme for the event, with our chic guests tucking into a selection of mini sesame seed, onion and poppy seed bagels, hummus and roasted peppers, Forman’s London smoked salmon with cream cheese and (our favourite) slabs of salt beef with fiery English mustard.

Conference Catering on the Move

Sometimes catering must move with an event, as was the case in this three day conference for 350.

TLK began in Surrey, before moving to Lancaster and then back to Surrey again to provide guests with a gourmet breakfast and seated lunch in hand.

The huge project made the most of The London Kitchen’s resources. Two teams jointly managed the logistics and geographical span of this truly immense task – but the menu certainly did not suffer as a result. Guests enjoyed a wide range of treats over the three days, including Duck Breast with Truffle Dauphinoise, Red Onion Jam and Goat’s Cheese Tarts and our favourite – The London Kitchen’s Eton Mess.

Way before the first starting gun had been fired The London Kitchen claimed the title of first caterer on site, providing fresh croissants, breakfast delicacies and coffee for LOCOG’s top executives. That’s almost as good as a medal, isn’t it?

The London Kitchen created a picture perfect party with a Heaven and Hell theme for a mojor oil company’s Christmas After Party at One Mayfair. Five hundred guests enjoyed fully themed catering and extraordinary production as we separated the saints from the sinners.

These were swiftly followed by bowl food, including a Devilish Duck and Enchanted Forest Mushrooms and Baby Marrow. But that wasn’t all – we also provided a ‘Holy Pick n’ Mix’ stall, to bring out the glutton in all of our guests!

On the menu were Golden Eggs (Mini Scotch Quail’s Eggs), Angry Birds (Chicken Breast Wrapped in Pork with Pesto and Onion Jam), Catapult Rolls (Rice Paper Roll with mixed Peppers, Spring Onions, Cucumber and Fresh Mint) and many more.
